Best Week EVER!

It brings me great joy to report that in Week 7, we turned in a team record of 287.927 miles, more than ten miles above our previous high! Erin and Grant accomplished personal bests for the week, with Grant achieving this feat for the second consecutive week! He must be making several trips back and forth to the new crib in the middle of the night! Honorable mentions go to Chrissy, who nearly reached her personal best which she set the week prior, and Heather, who was just short of her best week. Joe also contributed his second highest output. I think we are on the verge of eclipsing the three-hundred mile mark at any time!

The weather is cooling down and we might try making a team outing to Subway this week. Hopefully we can get as many people on our team as we can to join our pilgrimage. Once again, great work last week! I am looking forward to see if we can maintain this production!

Back on Track!

After going through a rough patch in Week 5, we had a strong resurgence this past week. It was our second highest total to date. I would like to congratulate Cindy, Chrissy, Heidi, and Grant for their best individual weekly output in Week 6. I had my second highest total, as did Heather. The fact that we had half of our team contributing their best mileage totals is very encouraging, and I hope we are able to build on this as the competition continues! Great job, team!

Rough Week

Well, this past week, we had a bit of a tough time accumulating miles for various reasons. The two teams behind us are gaining fast. Hopefully we can come back strong. I don't know about you guys, but I have found myself parking farther and farther away from the store lately to get that little bit of extra mileage. Lately, I have noticed that it has consumed me a bit, although I guess that is kind of what this is all about...a bit of a lifestyle change. Let's have a good week and put some distance in between us and 5th and 6th place!

Hanging In There

Greetings once again. We had a bit of a down week this past week, about 48.5 miles less than we posted the previous week. I think a big chunk of that was me doing about 33 miles less than my unrealistic 84 miles, which I expected since there is no way I could keep that up on a weekly basis. I wanted to congratulate Joe and Erin for improving on their previous weekly total, with Erin having her best week of the competition. I am hoping we can keep it around there and maybe improve on it slightly as we go on.

The Insain Bolts put some more space in between us with their record-breaking week, so it does not appear that we will be reclaiming 3rd place for some time now, but like I said before, if we are all able to maintain at least 20 miles a week and do whatever little things we can do here and there, I think we can slowly chip away at the leaders, assuming that they cannot keep up that pace and get burned out. If anything, we need to fend off We've Got Sole and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. to ensure that we at least remain in 4th place. This is a battle of attrition, and I believe that we can overcome this deficit at some point. Our ticker represents us as the steady turtle, slow at the start, but consistent. Hopefully we will be dining on some rabbit by the end!

Middle of the Pack

Hey everyone, we had a solid week last week, posting the second highest total for a week with 277.8 miles. We actually closed in on the Insain Bolts, moving to within 6.5 miles of their cumulative total. I actually kind of burned myself out a bit last week and I am not going to be able to contribute 80+ miles per week; therefore, I am hoping to scale back a bit so I don't become completely useless! I think we are fairly similar in substance to the Insain Bolts, so we might have a chance to keep up with them and perhaps pass them in the standings, but to challenge the top two spots, we would all have to step it up a notch. Just a bit, nothing huge. Maybe we can all try to squeeze in an extra five miles somewhere during the week, just that alone would add 40 miles as a team! Either way, I think if we are all able to put in at least 20 miles per week (as long as that isn't pushing it too hard for some of us) and maintain that pace, we might be able to chip away at the leaders. I believe that we can follow this through and be consistent week after week. Next week, I hope we can get together for another lunch walk!

Great Job!

I'm glad all six of us who work in the office were able to get together to walk to lunch. Hopefully when the weather cools down, we can maybe walk a little farther, and also participate in some outdoor activities. I was thinking maybe if we can all get together at one time, or at least some of us, maybe we can do a BBQ or picnic over a weekend and play some games like ultimate frisbee. It would be kind of a bring your spouse, significant other, or a friend kind of thing, if we were to do it. Just a thought...

Well, I hope you all have a nice weekend! Hopefully we will have an official logo soon!

Welcome!

Hey, team! We've finally got a blog set up and in its very infant stages. The logo will most likely change, though I think I would like to keep that picture as the link to our blog from the main blog page. Blog, blog, blog. So, hopefully we can communicate on here a bit as well to express our goals, our accomplishments, some new ideas, and concerns.
